This incubator is an off-shoot of Technical Solutions Inc (TSi) an engineering business that was incorporated in 1996, after years of design consulting work. In 2012, Techsol Engineering Inc (TEi) was added to the family. Active since 1996, the businesses have occupied several locations, but all inside of Tilbury Industrial Park, in Delta BC:
The latest incarnation is (like most) a 2 storey building. The ground floor houses the production department, with all the equipment you could need, including a lead-free assembly line with a precision Swiss pick-and-place machine, and another $250k in parts inventory, from resistors and CAPs, to processors and memory chips, to LCDs. Also on the ground-floor is a lunch-room in the front with a full-size fridge, microwave, toaster-oven, and (the all important) dishwasher (because engineers cannot wash their own dishes ... strange fact of nature). And a warehouse in the rear with assorted works in progress, more parts, and test parts. And there is a wheel-chair accessible washroom too.
There are 3 offices, another washroom, and an open area with desks for several engineers, plus the reception space. The largest of the offices houses the in-house IT department, which has 2 of the main Linux servers, 2 Windows servers for testing, hosting different vintages of Windows Server, plus Ethernet switches, and spare computers and parts including SSDs and power-supplies. There is also a Sharp MFP (printing full-bleed 11x17" schematics and drawings, double-sided to save paper, or course) and all the usual stuff you need: Lab power-supplies, DSOs (digital storage scopes), hand-tools, meters, etc.
And the vintage fax machine (a plain-paper lazer machine from 1998) that is occasionally still used for Gov't work.
With the lead-free pick-and-place machine.
